Hello, hello! We have arrived in London. We had a nice, smooth flight & even slept a few hours. After a LONG walk through Heathrow navigating the various obstacles (actually a long walk for poor Steve pushing me in the wheelchair), we were greeted by a very nice young man from Disney Cruise Line. He escorted us to our limo driver, who whisked us through the harrowing London traffic to the Grosvenor House, right near Hyde Park. Our room is rather small & plain; when we look out the window, we have a lovely view of huge HVAC ducts. But it will do for one night.
Weather is cool and partly cloudy (pretty typical). Our driver said that the past winter was cold & snowy (not so typical).
Steve is getting frustrated trying to log on to the wireless network in the lobby bar (I had no problem). The Grosvenor House is a JW Marriott & they charge £6 for sixty minutes of connect time (grrrrr). I won’t share how much we paid for our room, but it is so frustrating that an expensive hotel like this can’t give you free Wi-Fi.
Disney cruise line has a staff at the hotel & we are all checked in for our cruise (sweet!). We leave at 9:30 tomorrow morning for the two-hour bus ride to Dover.
In a while, we’re going to take a cab over to the London Eye to get some spectacular views of the city. We’ll post some pictures later.
